IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

The solar light chain is intended to be used for decorating out-

side spaces. The battery of the solar unit charges up in day-

light via the solar panel. This stored energy allows the LEDs to

glow in the dark.

■

The product is designed for private use and is not intended for

commercial use. Only use it as described in these instructions.

Any other use is deemed improper.

■

Defects arising due to improper handling, damage or attempts

at repair are excluded from the warranty. This also applies to

normal wear and tear.

■

Risk of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from

children and animals.

■

The product is not a toy! Keep children and animals away from

the product to avoid injury.

■

Do not disassemble the product (except to remove the battery

prior to disposal). Only have the product repaired by a qualiﬁ ed

workshop or by customer service.

■

If the rechargeable battery leaks, make sure that the battery

acid does not come into contact with your skin, eyes and mu-

cous membranes. In the event of contact with the battery acid,

rinse the affected areas immediately with plenty of clean water

and consult a physician as soon as possible.

■

Rechargeable batteries must not be disassembled, disposed

of in ﬁ re, immersed in liquids or short circuited.

■

Do not use the product if it is damaged.

■

Protect the product against heat, open ﬂ ames and percus-

sions.

■

Never submerge the product in water or other liquids! It is only

splash-proof.

■

During extreme weather conditions (e.g. heavy rain, storm,

hail) or if the article will not be used for a long time, switch it off

and store it in a dry place.

■

Keep the solar panel clean so that the greatest possible ab-

sorption of light is guaranteed. Wipe down the solar panel (and

if necessary also the remaining components of the article) with

a damp cloth. Do not use any corrosive or abrasive clean-

ing agents to clean the article! They could damage the sur-

faces.

Article Overview

Putting Into Operation

•

Before the LEDs can glow, the battery must be charged up for

approx. 6 to 8 hours.

•

Do not put up the solar unit in the shade (e.g. not below tree-

tops). If possible, it should be able to receive direct sunlight all

day long.

•

The solar unit should not be placed near to other light sources

so that the LEDs can switch on automatically.

1. Unpack the items supplied and remove all possible protective

ﬁ lms (e.g. from the solar panel) and stickers. Check all parts

for possible transport damage. In the event of any damage,

please contact our customer service department immediately.

2. Plug the birds on the LEDs and clip them to an object as de-

sired.

3. Insert the ground spike, the stem if required, and the solar unit

into each other.

4. Anchor the ground spike in the ground. Ensure that the cord

does not pose a tripping hazard.

The battery will now charge up in daylight. When darkness sets

in, the LEDs automatically switch on. When it gets light, they

switch off and the battery is charged up via the solar panel.

6. To switch off the solar unit entirely, slide the switch to the OFF

position.

Disposal

The packaging material is recyclable. Please dispose of it

in an environmentally friendly manner and take it to a recy-

cling centre.

Dispose of the article in an environmentally friendly manner.

The article should not be disposed of in the normal domes-

tic waste. Please dispose of it at a recycling centre for used

electrical and electronic devices. You can obtain more infor-

mation from your local authorities.

Batteries should be removed before the article is disposed

of and should be disposed of separately from the article. To

protect the environment, batteries may not be disposed of

with normal household waste, but must be taken to suitable

collection points. Note the relevant statutory regulations

governing the disposal of batteries.

Removing the Battery: Undo the screws of the solar unit and

remove the cover. You can then remove the batteries.
