6. Make sure the computer is powered on and close all other windows in prepa-

ration for new hardware recognition.

7. Connect DC-adapter to XPacket Storage Device and make sure the power

switch is off. Press O to switch off, press I to switch on. Connect the power

cord to the power socket to complete the hardware connections.

8. Turn on the power on XPacket Storage Device and wait for the computer to

recognize the newly added hard drive. A slow computer may take several min-

utes to respond the recognition.
