Operation

1. Switch on the scraper before you place it on the
work piece and move it over the surface to be
scraped/smoothed.
2. Grip the machine with both hands.
3. Guide the switched on device slowly with a fitted tool
attachment to the substrate to be worked. Position
yourself in position by placing the tool on the flattest
possible angle.
Note.
The device will only begin its stroking/working
action when a tool attachment (scraper/blade) makes
contact with the material to be worked, allowing you to
position the tool correctly.
4. Press down on the fitted scraper/blade, applying the
lightest pressure.
5. Work the machine away from the body. Never place
your hands in front of the immediate working area.
6. Work the machine over the required areas, applying
more pressure onto the scraper/blade as required.
Note.
Too much pressure can cause damage to the
background material (e.g., wood, plaster).
While working, keep other persons out of the working area!
WARNING.
The machine and the tool attachments may
become warm when being used for a long time. If this
occurs turn the machine off, place in a safe environment
and allow to cool down. Do not attempt to touch the metal
blades after prolonged application as they will be hot and
may burn. Do not overload the machine and always allow it
to cool between the individual work steps.
WARNING.
Wear safety goggles, a dust mask and
ear defenders.
WARNING.
Do not use the scraper in wet or damp conditions.
CAUTION.
Where possible, clamp smaller work pieces to
the bench.

Maintenance

WARNING.
Always ensure that the tool is switched off and
the plug is removed from the power point before making any
adjustments or maintenance procedures.
1. Keep the tool's air vents unclogged and clean at all times.
2. Regularly check to see if any dust or foreign matter
has entered the grills near the motor and around the
on/off switch. Use a soft brush to remove any
accumulated dust. Wear safety glasses to protect
your eyes whilst cleaning.
3. If the body of the tool needs cleaning, wipe it with a soft
damp cloth. A mild detergent can be used but nothing like
alcohol, petrol or other cleaning agent.
4. Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts.
CAUTION.
Water must never come into contact with
the tool.

General inspection

Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight. They
may vibrate loose over time.

Power cord maintenance

If the supply cord needs replacing, the task must be carried
out by the manufacturer, the manufacturer's agent, or an
authorised service centre in order to avoid a safety hazard.
