Handling precautions
E-1.
(1) Do not open the case of camera and never touch inside, where precision parts
are assembled. A trouble or accident may result.
(2) Do not install the unit where it is exposed to water splash, high humidity and
heavy dust. Internal parts may be damaged. Preferably use the camera at
ambient temperatures of -10 to +50°C.
(3) Be very careful not to drop or shock the camera.
(4) Never touch the CCD surface.
General
E-2.
This unit is a single TV camera, switchable between color and black&white and
equipped with a 1/3-inch CCD (Charge Coupled Device) with about 380,000
picture elements (NTSC). With a single camera, high-quality color images are
obtained by day, whereas high-sensitivity black-and-white images by night. The
unit provides for higher resolution, greater sensitivity and crisper pictures and
has back-light compensation, AES (Automatic Electronic Shutter), auto iris and
other functions. The CCTV camera is best suited for general monitoring
applications.
Features
E-3.
(1) Day/night selection function
Depending on the ambient brightness, automatic mode selection is made.
High-quality color images are achieved by day, and high-sensitivity black-
and-white ones by night, which offer crisp pictures 24 hours. The switching
can also be controlled when combined with external sensors and other
devices.
(2) Digital process
The video signal processing is controlled by an internal RGB digital signal
processor (DSP) for stable, clear pictures.
(3) High-quality and high-resolution pictures
The unit is designed for noises as low as a smear level of -110 dB. What's
more, the DSP-based appropriate details correction function is available for
sharper images with better signal/noise ratio.
The horizontal resolution is as high as 540 TV lines in the color mode and as
high as 570 TV lines in the black-and-white mode.
(4) Back-light compensation
With the auto iris lens or the AES in use, effective back-light compensation
can be achieved.
(5) Auto iris function (Exclusive for DC iris lens)
The unit is compatible with DC iris lens. A wide variety of CCTV-destined
auto iris lenses are applicable.
(6) Auto white balance
The unit is also provided with automatically tracking white balance control
(ATW). Subjects are automatically corrected to optimum white balance
regardless of their color temperature fluctuations.
(7) AES (Automatic Electronic Shutter)
The AES function with a sensitivity ratio of 1 : 1600 employs variable stepwise
control to provide smooth sensitivity control. Even with a fixed aperture lens,
stable video outputs are equivalent to those with a F1.4 thru F50 auto iris lens.
(This function is not usable in regions where the power frequency and the
camera's vertical frequency are different.)
(8) Flange focal distance adjustment mechanism
When a zoom lens is used, the focus tracking is easily adjustable.
(9) Focus EZ function
Just press the button located at the back of the unit, and the auto iris lens
aperture will be kept open. Even in broad daylight, the focus is readily
adjustable no matter how much the depth of field is.
(10) Monitor selection function
Optimum picture quality can be preset according to the type of monitor (CRT
or LCD) being connected.

Lens mount (CS mount)
This is used to mount the lens on the camera. Many types of CS mount lens can
be attached.
Holder mounting screw holes
These holes are used to fix the camera on the camera holder. They are also
applicable to general tripods.
Note:
To attach the camera on a tripod or a camera holder, be sure to
use mounting screws (1/4" -20UNC) that are shorter than 5.5 mm.
Flange focal distance adjuster
The flange focal distance may need readjustment depending on the type of
lens. Readjust the distance also when the focus ring on the lens fails to put the
image in focus.
Flange focal distance lock screw
After finely adjusting the camera's flange focal distance, fix the distance with
this screw.
Auto iris lens connector (Exclusive for DC iris lens)
The connector is specifically used to connect the auto iris lens.
Use the optional auto iris lens control connector plug (E4-191J-150 or equivalent).

Numbers of connector pins
FOCUS EASY switch (FOCUS EZ)
With an auto iris lens being connected, this switch is used to support the focus
adjustment. Just press the FOCUS EZ button, and the lens aperture is kept
open for about 40 seconds. (Press it again, and the aperture opening time will
be prolonged.)
Line lock phase control (LL PHASE)
This control adjusts the phases of the video output and the power line.
■ Precautions in setting the LL PHASE
1. Press the LL PHASE's "<" and ">" buttons at once, and the phase will
be back to its factory setting.
2. When the "<" and ">" buttons have been pressed at once, push the ">"
button once more to put the data in memory.
Iris level control (IRIS LEVEL)
This control adjusts the sensitivity with a DC iris lens in use.
AES selector switch (AES)
The switch turns on and off the AES function. When an auto iris lens is
used, be sure to keep this switch at OFF position.
Backlight compensation selector switch (BLC)
The switch turns on and off the backlight compensation function.
Day/night selector switch (D/N)
The AUTO and COLOR modes are selectable.
AUTO: Automatic switching for high-quality color images by day and
high-sensitivity black-and-white ones by night.
* When the remote terminal gets short-circuited, the screen
switches itself to the B/W mode (priority given to remote control).
COLOR: Fixed in COLOR mode
* When the remote terminal gets short-circuited, the screen
switches itself to the B/W mode (priority given to remote control).
Note:
Suppose that the day/night switching function is enabled under
infrared lighting. If the light is too strong, the color mode and the
B/W mode may be switched alternately at regular intervals.
Accordingly, in installing the camera, make sure there is no such
trouble. Or it is advisable to control the color and B/W modes with
the remote terminal.
Display monitor selector switch
Optimum picture quality is selectable according to the type of monitor, CRT or LCD.
CRT: Preset for connecting to a cathode ray tube monitor
LCD: Recommended when hooking up an LCD motor or digital video monitor
Sync system selector switch (SYNC)
Used to choose between the internal sync and the line lock. Set the
selector to INT for use in internal sync, and LL for use in line lock. The line
lock cannot be used in regions with the power frequency of 50Hz.
Power indicator (POWER)
The LED indicator stays on in green while the camera power is on.
Video output connector (VIDEO OUT)
The output connector is connected to the video input connector of a monitor,
switcher or the like. (Terminate the terminal with a 75-ohm impedance.)
AC24V/DC12V power input terminal
Keep the input power at AC24V (21.6-26.4 V) or DC12V (10.5-15.0 V).
This installation should be made by a qualified service person and
should conform to all local codes.
Remote terminal
This is the sensor signal input terminal for the day/night switching filter.
By getting the terminals short-circuited, the B/W mode is fixed.
