5. EMPTYING CONTAINER
For speed of operation, simply hold the Garden Groom Midi by
the front handle, unclip and withdraw the container from the
main body and deposit the waste material into an appropriate
receptacle. To re-engage, push the front of the container
over the exhaust, raise the rear of the container, ensuring
alignment with clip, push clip forward with palm of hand
to lock. Note: The interlock peg MUST be connected to
the interlock switch for the machine to function.

6. VOLUME BAG ATTACHMENT
For larger areas of hedge growth, a volume
bag attachment has been developed.
This accessory has a specifically
refined container fixed to an exhaust
hose and volume bag attachment
and is fitted in the same manner
as the standard container.
TIP: It is necessary to periodically
shake the debris down the hose
to ensure smooth conveyance of waste
material into the volume bag. When full,
detach/unzip from hose and empty into
chosen receptacle.

Safe use of Your Garden Groom

1. Keep work area clean.

- Cluttered areas invite injuries.
2. Consider work area environment.
- Do not expose power tools to rain. Do not use power tools in
damp or wet locations. Keep work area well lit. Do not use power
tools where there is risk to cause fire or explosion.
3. Guard against electric shock.
- Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces
(e.g. pipes, fence posts, electrical installations).

- Use extension cable with a capacity of 16A or more
- plug in 230V~ 50Hz VDE socket only
4. Keep children away.
- Do not let visitors touch the tool or extension cord.
All visitors should be kept away from area.
5. Store idle tools.
- When not in use, tools should be stored in a dry,
high or locked up place, out of reach of children.
6. Do not force the tool.
- It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which
it is intended.
7. Use the right tool.
- Do not force small tools or attachments to do the job of
a heavy duty tool. Do not use tools for purposes not intended;
for example do not use the Garden Groom to trim lawns.
8. Dress properly.
- Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery; they may be caught in
moving parts. Gloves and non-skid footwear are recommended.
Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.
9. Use safety glasses.
- Also use face or dust mask if the cutting operation is dusty.
10. Do not abuse the cord.
- Never carry the tool by the cord or yank it to disconnect it from the
socket. Keep the cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
11. Do not overreach.
- Keep proper footing and balance at all times.

- Keep cutting tools clean for better and safer performance.
Inspect tool cord periodically and if damaged it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, or its service agent, or a
similar qualified person. Inspect extension cords periodically
and replace if damaged. Keep handles dry, clean and free from
oil and grease.
- Always ensure all handles and guards are fitted, when using
the tool"
- Never attempt to use an incomplete machine, or one fitted
with an unauthorised modification.
- Keep cord away from cutting area.
- When not in use, before servicing and when cleaning the blade
ensure the Garden Groom Midi is turned off and UNPLUGGED FROM
THE MAINS.
- Check cutting blades regularly for damage, and if
damaged repair arrange for immediately

13. Avoid unintentional starting.
- Do not carry a plugged- in tool with a finger on the switch.
Ensure switch is off when plugging in.
14. Use outdoor extension leads.
- Use only extension cords intended for outdoor use.
15. Stay alert.
- Watch what you are doing. Use common sense.
Do not operate tool when you are tired.
16. Check damaged parts.
- Before further use of the tool, a guard or other part that

Check for alignment of moving parts, free running of moving parts,
breakage of parts, mounting and any other conditions that may
affect its operation. A guard or other part that is damaged should be

otherwise indicated in this instruction manual. Have defective
switches replaced by an authorized service facility. Do not use
the tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.
- Check cable for damage before starting work and replace if
necessary.
17. Warning
- The use of any accessory or attachment, other than those
recommended in this instruction manual, may present a risk
of personal injury.
18. Repair
Have your tool repaired by a qualified person.
- This electric tool is in accordance with the relevant
safety requirements. Repairs should only be carried out by
qualified persons using original spare parts; otherwise this may result
in considerable danger to the user.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a
special cord or assembly available from the manufacturer or
its service agent.
19. Do not put hands or feet near or under rotating blade.
20. Stop the tool when crossing surfaces other than hedges
and when transporting the tool to and from the area to be cut.
21. Never operate the Garden Groom Midi without the container
or fully assembled volume bag attachment
22. The operator is responsible for accidents and hazards
occurring to other people or their property.
23. Never tape switches.
24. Never use the Garden Groom at eye level.
25. Always use ladders or a platform when working
over head height.
26. Do not start the machine in situ. i.e buried in hedge.
