COMPONENT
Select the colour system that matches your TV. This also al-
lows playback of a disc that uses a different video standard
(PAL or NTSC).
• PAL - For PAL-system TV.
• NTSC – For NTSC-system TV.
• Multi – For TVs that are compatible with both PAL and NTSC.
If TV Type should be changed, HDMI setting has to be "off".
HDMI is "on" by default.
Allows you to select the aspect ratio that is appropriate for
your TV display.
• 4:3 Pan Scan
If you have a conventional TV set and
would like to see the DVD picture fill
your TV screen then use this setting. A
wide picture is displayed on the whole
TV screen with a portion automatically
out off.
• 4:3 Letter Box
If you have a conventional 'square' set
and would like to see the DVD picture
in its full format, use this setting. Wide
bands will be displayed on the upper
and lower portions of the TV screen.
• 16:9 Wide Screen
If you have a widescreen TV set, use this
setting (you must also set your wide-
screen TV to its 16:9 mode.).
Progressive Scan displays twice the number of frames per
second than interlaced scanning (ordinary normal TV sys-
tem). With nearly double the number of lines, progressive
scan offers higher picture resolution and quality.
Progressive is "off" by default. Component setting has to be
set to "YPbPr" if Progressive should be set to "on"
Warning: Ensure that you have connected this unit to a pro-
gressive scan TV using the YPbPr connection.
In HDMI setup you can turn the HDMI out On and Off and it is
possible to set-up the resolution.
For PAL-System TV one of following settings is available:
576p (720), 720p (50 Hz), 1080i (50 Hz)
For NTSC-System TV one of following settings is available:
480p (720), 720p (60 Hz), 1080i (60 Hz)
For the best picture quality the settings should be the high-
est possible of your TV.
Warning: If a higher resolution chosen than the TV can
handle, - then the screen will be "blue". Connect your video
cable and restore settings.
Select the component output colour system that matches
your TV: YPbPr, RGB.
Default setting: EUR = RGB – Other = YPbPr
If component should be changed, HDMI setting has to be
"off". HDMI is "on" by default.
