For the first-time access, you need to activate the device by setting a password. The device can be
activated and managed via multiple tools, such as web browser, iVMS-4200 client, SADP software,
and HikCentral Professional clients. The following part introduces the activation steps of the device
on the web browser and on the iVMS-4200 client. For the activation steps of the device on other
tools, please refer to the corresponding user manuals in Chapter 4 Remote Management.
 The password strength of the device can be automatically checked. We highly recommend you
to change the password of your own choosing (using a minimum of 8 characters, including at
least three kinds of the following categories: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and
special characters) in order to increase the security of your product.
 We recommend you to change your password regularly, especially in the high security system.
Changing the password monthly or weekly can better protect your product.
 Proper configuration of all passwords and other security settings is the responsibility of the
installer and/or end-user.

Default Information

The device default information is shown as below.
 AP default IP address: 192.168.1.35
 CPE default IP address: 192.168.1.36
 Default user name: admin
Activation Using Web Browser
Before you start:
 Make sure the device is powered on and connected to the network correctly.
 Make sure the device is in the same network segment with that of the PC.
Open the web browser.
Enter the default IP address of the device in the address bar of the web browser.
Press Enter key.
Set Password.
Read and agree with the disclaimer and select Country/Region Code.
