Chapter 3 Operation

3.1 Turning this product on/off

This section explains how to turn this product on/off.

Press the Server Blade power switch to turn this product on.

For the procedure for turning the Server Blade on, refer to "3.2 Turning On the Server" in "PRIMERGY

BX600 S3 Blade Server System Unit Hardware Guide".

This product works in conjunction with Server Blade power operations.

Normally, the power of this product and the Server Blade are turned on at the same time.

The Server Blade's power may turn on approximately 15 seconds after this product's power turns on.

This happens because Sever Blade initialization takes time. This does not mean there is a failure.

When shutting down the OS that is running on the Server Blade, this product's power is turned off in

conjunction with the Server Blade power.

When the Server Blade power cannot be turned off even if the OS is shut down, check that the hard disk

access LED does not light up, and press the Server Blade power switch.

For the procedure for turning the Server Blade off, refer to "3.3 Turning Off the Server" in "PRIMERGY

The power of this product and the Server Blade are turned off at the same time.
