Replacing the Center Control Cover

CAUTION:

Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions shipped with your computer.

NOTICE:

To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such

as a connector on the back of the computer).

NOTICE:

To help prevent damage to the system board, you must remove the battery from the battery bay before you begin working inside the

computer.

Removing the Center Control Cover

1. Follow the procedures in

Before You

2. Remove the two M2 x 3-mm screws that secure the center control cover.

3. Turn the computer and open the display as far as possible.

NOTICE:

Be extremely careful when removing the center control cover. The cable connector is very fragile.

4. Pry the center control cover up, and turn it over on top of the keyboard.

5. Lift the cable release tab and disconnect the center control cover cable.

6. Remove the center control cover.
