Verifying Drive Operation

To confirm the installation, power on the tape drive and the host system. The screens displayed at power-up contain BIOS, operating system, and SCSI controller information.
If the first screen displays host adapter and SCSI ID information, then the system has been recognized and the installation is successful.
To perform a trial backup, insert a cartridge. Push the cartridge completely into the tape drive. The tape will load automatically.
Following the instructions given with your backup software application, write test data to a tape, read the test data from the tape, and compare the data read from the tape
with the original data on disk. Some backup applications may refer to this as "verifying" your data. If the test data is completely restored and verified to be without errors, you
have correctly installed the tape drive.
