Diopter adjustment

Adjust the diopter to maintain focus while zooming, photographing or displaying
the image. Readjust the diopter each time a new surgeon uses the eyepiece.
1.
Use the zoom knob to maximize the magnification.
2.
While looking through the eyepiece with the reticle, rotate the diopter
adjustment ring to bring the reticle into focus (see Figure 4.13).

Observe a piece of white cloth or paper to facilitate the
adjustment.
3.
Focus on the observation area and confirm that both the observation area
and the reticle is clearly visible.
4.
Use the zoom knob to minimize the magnification. While looking through
both eyepieces, rotate the diopter adjustment ring of the eyepiece without
the reticle until both observation areas are brought into focus.
5.
Minimize the magnification, and confirm that the observation area is still in
focus. If it is out of focus, repeat Steps 1. through 4.
