On FSV c i rcuit breakers examine aramid cords to ensure
they are aligned over each of the guides ( refer to page
37 , Fig. 29 for location).

Insert breaker i nto its cubicle and rack to the "discon­
nect" position. Reenerg ize control power

Advance the b reaker to the "test" position and close
b reaker electrical ly. Try an opening operation. Observe
that the b reaker closes and opens.

D u ring this racking exercise note the alignment of the
stationary and movable secondary disconnects. Check
also the alig nment between the auxil iary switch bayonet
on cubicle wal l and operating yoke on b reaker. See Fig.
2a and 2b o r reference to the b reaker operating yoke.

A fully connected breaker controls high volt­
age and currents. I mp roper use can cause
death, personal i n jury or property damage.
Perform i nitial racking to connect position on
de-energized bus. If an energized bus is un­
avoid able obtain a p propriate c l earances
before beginning the next two steps.

Move breaker to fully connected position on a de-ener­
g ized bus. Close and trip b reaker from main control
position.

I f a lock-out key i nterlock has been p rovided, place this
interlock i n the breaker "locked out" position. key re­
moved, and perform a close operation . C heck that the
b reaker has gone tri p free. Open the i n terlock, " key hel d "
position a n d repeat the closing trial . T h e breaker now
should successfu lly close.

The b reaker should now be ready for service.
