3. Unplug the UT4D from LocoNet. The throttle will automatically shift into
infrared operation. Any UR90/91 unit that sees infrared commands will
blink a red led to show the message was received OK.
In infrared mode you can control: Locomotive speed, Direction, Brake and,
Functions F0-F8 (F9 and above are not available in IR mode). You must plug
in to select a new loco address while in IR mode. To Select, Dispatch or Steal
another loco when in IR mode you must plug the throttle into a LocoNet.
UT4D Battery Conservation Mode (Sleep Mode):
The UT4D has an automatic battery conservation mode when not connected to
a LocoNet port. After about 8 seconds of no action, the normal Status light
blink rate , either green or red, of about once per second will slow down to
once every 3 seconds to show the UT4D is conserving battery power. Any
user action will exit this mode automatically and the Status light will return to
the faster blink rate.
