KEEP ALL EXITS CLEAR

VENTILATION

Any tent must be properly ventilated in all weather conditions to allow sufficient airflow into and out of the tent. Please familiarize yourself with all vents and openings in your tent

to ensure you can maintain adequate ventilation. There are three main reasons we promote ventilation within a tent, as in the same way we would in any dwelling like a house or

apartment. These are Airflow, Air quality, and Condensation Reduction.

• AIRFLOW: Without airflow or fresh air into the tent, your environment will become stale and stuffy. It is important to promote good

quality airflow throughout the tent.

• AIR QUALITY: A buildup of any harmful gasses (carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and others) is possible in an enclosed space. For

this reason, you must always have adequate ventilation in your tent to ensure a good flow of air from outside.

• CONDENSATION REDUCTION: Leaving the vents open, supplemented by partially opening windows and doors at night to provide

cross ventilation is a good way to reduce condensation.

Given the importance of proper ventilation, for airflow, air quality and condensation reduction, we use high and low venting in most of our tents. This allows cooler air in through

the low vents and warmer, moist air up and out through the high vents. Opening both the high and low vents is important as this allows for this cross ventilation. If your tent has

vents in the porch / vestibule, then it is important to also keep those vents open. Failure to vent your tent properly, may result in serious injury, permanent disability,

or death to you or to others.

GENERAL PRECAUTIONS

•

Make sure you know the fire precaution arrangements on the site.

•

Consider the possibility of falling rocks or tree limbs, lightning, flash floods, avalanches, strong winds, and other potential hazards.

•

Make sure you anchor your tent at all times.

•

Please be mindful of guylines, bathtub floors, straps, and other parts of tents as they can be a potential trip hazard.

SET-UP

IMPORTANT: WE ADVISE YOU TO ASSEMBLE THE TENT ONCE BEFORE GOING CAMPING TO BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE ASSEMBLY OF THE TENT.

Take out and organize all the contents from the carry bags. Set-up of your tent may take longer in windy conditions due to the extra caution needed.

A.Tent Body

Unroll the tent onto the ground. Temporarily, stake down the four corners of the

tent.

B.Tent Poles

B1. Assemble all three poles and spread out the tent. Note: there are two longer

poles and one shorter Pole (Porch Pole).

B2. Insert a long pole through one pole sleeve located on top of the tent. Repeat

this process with the remaining long pole and sleeve. Poles will cross each other at

the centre.

B3. After sliding poles through the sleeves, place one end of the pole into the eyelet

in the webbing at the bottom corner of the tent body. Flex poles into an arch and

insert the other end of the pole into the corresponding eyelet.

B4. Insert shorter pole (Porch Pole) into sleeve located on the front of the flysheet.

Place one end of the pole into the eyelet in the webbing, then flex the pole into an

arch and insert the other end of the pole into the corresponding eyelet.

Caution: Ensure the pole sleeve fabric is distributed evenly along pole and doesn't

catch at the pole joints. Failure to do so could put undue stress on the poles

causing breaks or it could tear the fabric.

C. Securing The Tent

C1. Find plastic hooks on tent and clip them onto tent poles.

C2. Properly Stake down (4) corners of the tent going through pole connectors,

at a 45 degree angle using stakes provided.

C3. Floor of tent should be taut when staked properly

C4. Locate guylines attached to the flysheet.

C5. Stake out each guyline at a 45 degree angle.

C6. Tighten guylines as needed by adjusting the slider up the cord.

D. Ventilation

D1. Stake out all three lower vents.

D2. Open the two upper braced vents and ensure the brace is secured with the

velcro in the open position.

D3. If your Duo/Duo Maxx has covers on 2 of the inside lower vents, they can be

unzipped and rolled away to open them. At least 2 upper and 2 lower vents should

be open when using the tent.

E. Insulated Inner Tent/Culla (formerly "Cocoon")

Using the Culla/Culla Maxx is optional. Please refer to the instructions for specifics

on how to use the Culla.

NOTE: If using the Culla/Culla Maxx inside the Duo/Duo Maxx, then at least two

upper and 2 lower vents on both the Duo and the Culla must be open at all times to

ensure proper airflow.
