No sound from surround back

Cause
• Surround back speaker is switched off.
• The surround back channel is off
• The subwoofer is disconnected or switched
off.
• The subwoofer's settings are incorrect.
• The subwoofer's levels are too low.
• The LFE Attenuator is set to OFF.
• The speaker system setting is switched off.
• The speaker isn't connected properly.
• The source has no sound output for that
channel.
• The speaker output level is set too small.
• The scan function performed by the player
slightly alters the digital information, making
it unreadable.
• The player is paused.
• The player's sound output settings are
wrong.
• Different discs have different recording
levels so some may be louder than others.
• The analog signal is too strong.
• Master volume is too loud.
• The front speakers are set to small (S).
• Digital connections are incorrect.

Remedy
• Set the surround back speaker to S.BACK S or
S.BACK L (See page 34).
• Set the surround back channel to SB AUTO or SB ON
(see page 29).
• Connect or switch on the subwoofer (see page 15).
• Set the subwoofer (see page 35).
• Set the front speakers to Small (S) (see page 34).
• See Setting individual channel levels on page 37 to check
the speaker levels.
• Set the LFE Attenuator to either 0 dB or 10 dB (see
page 35).
• Change the speaker setting to Large (L) or Small (S) (see
page 34).
• Check all connections.
• If you choose one of the Advanced Surround mode, an
extra channel may be created for the speaker (see
page 28).
• Increase the speaker output level.
• This is not a malfunction, but be sure to turn the volume
down to prevent the output of loud noise from your
speakers.
• Press play.
• Set the player correctly (consult the manual that came
with the player, if necessary).
• Turn the volume down.
• Turn on input attenuator (see page 36).
• Turn the volume down.
• Set the front speakers to large (L) (see page 34).
