Uninstalling ACT & AMT
Close the ACT software and AMT software before running the uninstall software. Always run the
uninstaller from outside the install directories. Uninstalling the ACT software will delete only
those files that were installed by the software. Files, images, data, user preferences, etc., that
are created by the user or application will remain. The Account Management Tool will also get
uninstalled if it is on your work station, but the database files will remain.
Windows
To uninstall the Client Tools software for Windows 2000/2003/XP:
1. Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
2. In the software list, select Accxes. Click the Add/Remove button.
3. The InstallAnywhere Uninstaller screen will come up. Click the Uninstall button.
4. An "Uninstall Complete" message will appear when uninstall is complete. Click the Exit
button.
NOTE: Uninstaller deletes the current working directory, the Client Tools, and the Account
Management Tool software from your PC.
5. You may also want to delete the Act folder, where your files were stored, if you do not
need to access them anymore. (See the table in the "Clean Installation section of this
document.)
Sun Solaris
Always run the uninstaller from outside the install directories. If you run the Uninstall_Accxes
program within the Accxes/UninstallerData directory on your Sun Solaris, the current Accxes work
directory, and the subdirectory that you are in, will get deleted. Normal directory functions also
will not work (i.e., ls or cd).
To uninstall the Client Tools software:
1. In a command (shell) window, execute the following command:
cd <application install directory>/Uninstaller Data/ where <application
install directory> is the directory in which you originally placed the
ACT application.
2. Then type the command:
./Uninstall_Accxes
This will launch the uninstaller.
NOTE: Uninstaller deletes the current working directory, the Client Tools, and the Account
Management Tool software from your work station.
