Controlling the Microscope

When the DS-L1 and Nikon 90i microscope are connected via USB

You can change various microscope functions from the DS-L1 menu (for example, you can select a

different observation method).

* When performing bright-field microscopy

(1) Buttons corresponding to required actions are outlined in solid borders. Operate

the buttons in the sequence indicated by the numbers.

(2) Buttons corresponding to optional functions are enclosed in dashed borders.

(3) Perform the following adjustments from the microscope main unit.

• Condenser focusing and centering

• Removing the DIC prism of the objective from the optical path (when a DIC prism is

installed)

• Removing the polarizer from the optical path (when a polarizer is installed)

• Removing the 1-lambda plate from the optical path (when a 1-lambda plate is

installed)

• Inserting and removing the ND filter and NCB filter
