o Press 'F' for Find
o Type in the site number for your Serial NetGuardian and press 'Enter'
o Configure the NetGuardian as appropriate, using the same IP address of the first
unit BUT a different TCP Port. The TCP Port you use for the serial NetGuardian
must match the proxy port of the LAN NetGuardian that the Serial NetGuardian is
connected to. This means that if your proxy base for the LAN NetGuardian is
3001 then its serial port #1 is considered 3001, serial port #2 is considered 3002
and so on until the last data port #8 equals 3008. This is because you are
tunneling through the first LAN-based NetGaurdian and out its proxy port (TCP
Port 3001 in this example).
Set up NetGuardians in NGEdit.
NOTE: Although this step details NetGuardian setup using NGEdit, you may also
use a similar process in the Web browser interface.
o In NGEdit, Unit ID is the same as Site Number in T/Mon. Both Unit ID & Site
Numbers must match.
o The IP addresses for both NetGuardians in NGEdit must match those for LAN &
Serial in T/Mon
o TCP Port in T/Mon is the same as DCP Port in NGEdit.
Serial NetGuardian
