INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 4A

• Remove winch self-tailing arm screws using 5mm Allen key [A7].

• Lift self-tailing arm and drum off the base/stem of the winch.

• Place winch base/stem on the deck plate with mounting holes aligned.

• If fitting the motor unit to an existing manual winch you will also have to replace the existing

standard lower central gear wheel in the winch with the new one [4] supplied with your motor

unit. To do this follow the instructions in STEP 4B below. If you are fitting a new E1 Electric Winch

(new winch supplied with the motor unit) the required gear wheel will already be fitted.

• Fit the winch base to the deck plate using the 6 screws [7] supplied.

• Assemble the winch in reverse order to the disassembly/removal.

STEP 4B

*Note: It will be helpful to reference the winch Product Manual during this process

• After removing the self-tailing arm and drum.

• Remove the drive shaft from the winch by placing a locking winch handle into the socket

at the top of the drive shaft, rotating a little each direction and pulling up.

• Remove the upper gear wheel through the upper side window in the base/stem.

• Remove the lower side gear wheel shaft.

• Remove the lower side gear wheel through the bottom window in the base/stem.

• Remove the lower central gear wheel.

• Remove the circlip from the shut-off disc on the underside of the winch base

and remove the shut-off disc.

• Insert the new lower central gear wheel in through the bottom of the winch in the base/stem,

so that the external hexagonal feature of the gear wheel protrudes slightly from the hole in the

winch base. Hold the winch upside down during this and the next stage to prevent the new lower

central gear falling out of the hole in the base, prior to being secured by the lower side gear.

• Refit the lower side gear and upper gear in the reverse of the disassembly process.
