DSS2 ECO-1,5
v3 – MICROPROCESSOR, TRANSISTOR SPEED CONTROLLER – MANUAL
6. OPERATION
6.1. Operating mode selection
On the speed controller's board there is a JT switch by which you can
choose the control type - with keypad (KB mode) or 0-10V signal (A mode).
Switching must be done in OFF state in accordance with the Fig. 4.
6.2. Keypad based control (KB mode)
The DSS2 ECO-1.5_P control keyboard (Fig. 3) is placed on the facade.
It allows using all the features of the device without the need for external
controllers and to monitoring the current state of work.

To switch the regulator on, set the main switch located on the right side of
the controller to I position. Then, by pressing the ON/OFF button, the
regulator comes out of sleep mode and you can change the output voltage
with the DOWN and UP buttons. The steering level is indicated by a LED
indicator bar consisting of 8 LEDs.
Pressing the ON/OFF button again stops the controller and turns it into
sleep mode. The fan slows down smoothly, which is signalized by blinking
of a LED indicator bar.
During the operation mode the green LED RUN is lit constantly and
indicates proper operation. In sleep mode this LED flashes once every
three seconds to indicate that the controller is connected to the power
supply.
WARNING! Sleep mode set on the keypad does not disconnect power from
the motor! For galvanic isolation of the motor from the power supply, use
the main switch on the case or disconnect the controller from the power
source.
By pressing the ON/OFF button again the speed regulator returns to work
with the previously set speed level.
6.3. Analog 0-10V signal based control (A mode)
0-10V analog input allows setting the fan speed remotely. It is possible to
connect regulators into systems controlled by a single signal set by an
external controller.
The regulator is equipped with its own source of +10 VDC voltage supply
which can be used to connect the DEN 11 controller or control
3
potentiometer.
In DSS2 ECO-1.5_P version the signalling of operation, alarm and speed
level is done through LEDs in the same way as for the control by the
keypad. ON/OFF button allows you to stop and resume work. Buttons
DOWN and UP do not affect the operation of the device in A mode.
In DSS2 ECO-1.5 version the power is indicated by the green D1G LED
placed on the electronic board.
6.4. Overheating alarm of the regulator
The red LED ALARM indicates a state of regulator overheating risk.
Possible LED states:
The LED is not lit – proper regulator operation.
The LED is blinking – regulator overheating state – regulator
temperature exceeds 60
a maximum of 30%. This continues until cooling down. If this
condition lasts longer than 10 minutes, the controller switches to a
critical alarm state.

temperature exceeds 70
C. Regulator speed drops to 0% – the fan is
not working. This condition continues until cooling down.
Alarms are shown only on the keypad. The regulator without a keypad
does not have a LED alarm signalling.
6.5. PT1G potentiometer
In case of using the controller without a keypad it is not possible to
configure the settings in the menu. For this reason, there is a PT1
potentiometer installed on the electronic circuit board. It allows adjusting
the Dmin parameter (see the description of the service mode) in the range
from 0 to 40%.
It should be noted that the overriding value is the value set in the service
menu. The potentiometer state is read only when the parameter Dmin
in service menu is set to 0%. If this value is non-zero, the potentiometer
settings will be ignored.
6.6. Additional information
In KB mode (keypad controlled) after power disconnection during
operation and then connected again, the regulator will start operation
with the last memorized fan speed.
In KB mode (keypad controlled) after setting the regulator into sleep
mode with ON/OFF button, it will remain in the sleep mode after
disconnecting and re-powering again.
In 0-10V mode (A mode) after setting the regulator into sleep mode
with ON/OFF button, after disconnecting and re-powering again it will
begin work based on current 0-10V analog signal level.
7. SERVICE MODE
Service mode allows adjusting the parameters of the regulator to the
individual user needs. The following parameters can be modified:
minimum output level, maximum output level, minimum analog 0-10V
value, maximum analog 0-10V value. It is also possible to restore the
factory settings.
