5 . 3 A I R SU SPE NSIO N INSTALL AT IO N

Install the flat upper bracket to the chassis using two M10 x 35 bolts with washers and nuts, finger-

tightening only at this stage (picture 1).

Using two M8 U-bolts with washers and nuts, secure the lower bracket to the rear axle (picture 2).

Attach the air spring to the lower bracket using two M8 x 20 bolts with washers. Do not tighten the bolts

at this stage (picture 3).

Attach the air hose to the port at the top of the air spring, with reference to Section 5.5 and the following...

Blue tube: right side of the vehicle

Black tube: left side of the vehicle

Run the air line through the hole in the upper bracket

Lower the vehicle until the top of the air spring is in contact with the upper bracket, taking care not to trap

the air line

Attach the air spring to the upper bracket using two M8 x 20 bolts with washers. Do not tighten the bolts

at this stage.

Check to ensure that the air spring cannot come into contact with any surrounding parts

Fit the inflation system with reference to Section 5.4

10. Inflate the air springs with reference to Section 5.6

11. Align the air springs with reference to Section 5.7 and then tighten all four bolts to secure them to the

upper and lower brackets in accordance with the table of recommended tightening torque values given at

the beginning of this section.
