HTS-IN terminal
Input terminal to the ARC-53M. The signal fed to this input goes
through the ARC-53M's HTS circuit and the optimized signal that
appears at the output can be sent to external effectors.
IN terminal
Use this input terminal if you do not use the HTS input circuit.
S-1 – R-4 terminals
Effect loop terminals. S1–S4 send signals to effectors. R1–R4 receive
signals from effectors.
OUT terminal
The output terminal of the ARC-53M. The mute circuit is located just
in front of this terminal.
TUNER terminal
Used to feed an external tuner. The signal fed to HTS-IN or IN appears
at TUNER even when the MUTE switch is turned on.
SEPARATE LOOP terminals (IN-5, S-5, R-5, OUT-5)
This is a separate loop that is electrically isolated from other loops.
Use this loop when using an effector with which you cannot create
intended tone if it is fed a low impedance signal (e.g., a fuzz pedal).
Please refer to "How to Use Separate Loops (p. 8).
LATCH/MOMENTARY CONTROL terminals (C1–C3)
Latch or momentary control terminals. Operates as mechanical
latch type switches or momentary (unlatch) switches for switching of
amplifier channels or on/off control of reverbs, etc.
C1/C2 Control Terminals: Two lines can be controlled by using a
stereo plug.
• C1: Tip of stereo plug. When C1 is ON, the plug's tip and ground
are electrically connected.
• C2: Ring of stereo plug. When C2 is ON, the plug's ring and ground
are electrically connected.
REAR PANEL
C3 Control Terminal: Normally open and normally closed operation
can be selected by using a stereo plug.
• Stereo plug's Tip: Normally open terminal, i.e. there is no connection
between the tip and ground when C3 is OFF. When ON, the tip and
ground are electrically connected.
• Stereo plug's Ring: Normally closed terminal, i.e. there is a
connection between the tip and ground when C3 is OFF. When
ON, the connection between the tip and ground is lost.
MODE terminal
Preset and Direct modes can be toggled by the momentary (unlatch)
type switch connected to this terminal.
MIDI IN and MIDI OUT/THRU terminals
I/O terminals for MIDI signals. MIDI IN receives MIDI signals from an
external MIDI device.
MIDI OUT/THRU is used to feed MIDI signals to external MIDI devices.
When the operation mode of MIDI OUT/THRU has been set to
"THRU", MIDI signals received at MIDI IN pass through the ARC-53M
without any changes.
POWER DC12V IN receptacle
Used to connect the dedicated AC adapter. Be sure to use the AC
adapter supplied with the ARC-53M.
