QUICK GUIDE
HOW TO OBTAIN OPTIMAL SEPARATION
• Be sure the Dustopper® is fit securely on the bucket. Check to make sure
no major air leaks between the Dustopper® and the bucket, as well as the
ports. Clean debris from between the bottom of the Dustopper® and the
rim of the bucket.
• Ensure air flow is not restricted. Signs of restriction can be a collapsing
bucket or the vacuum overworking.
• Avoid long hoses. Longer hoses add to the restriction of air flow and
reduce CFM.
• Check the hoses and make sure there aren't any clogs in them.
• Check your Dustopper® frequently to be sure a large piece of debris isn't
stuck on the separator plate.
• Make sure to always clean or replace vacuum's filter when needed. A
clogged filter can cause restriction to the air flow. Occasionally check
filter and clean or replace when necessary. Clogged filters lower CFM
which can reduce separation performance.
• Dustopper® is recommended for use with vacuums with 5.0 HP or more.
The more power, the better the separation. Underpowered vacuums
reduce dust collection efficiency.
HOSE CONNECTIONS
• The Dustopper® hose is designed to fit ideally with wet/dry vacuums
having a 2-1/2 in. connection port. Flexible hose adapters and/or the use
of hose clamps can help with adapting Dustopper® to other makes of wet/
dry vacuums. Adding electrical tape to the hose end (input port) or the
outlet port to increase friction may improve hose coupling.
