4.3 Operation
The desired output pressure of the volume flow booster is set by increasing the output pressure on the pilot
regulator. A reduction of the pilot pressure also reduces the output pressure of the volume flow booster.

The general function of pilot operated regulators is shown in the movie link!
Movie pilot pressure regulator
Final adjustment should be made in the direction of increasing pressure to obtain the most accurate set points.
These pilot operated regulators will operate with any liquid or gaseous media compatible with the wetted materials.
Satisfy yourself that the pilot operated regulators will only be used within their admissible limiting value
(see technical data). Operating outside the nominal temperature range could destroy the sealings.
Warning:
The pilot regulator must never put out more pressure than the maximum permissible pressure on the volume flow
booster. Operating a volume flow booster with a much higher pilot pressure / input pressure / output pressure than
specified by the factory can have the following consequences:
The inner parts are subjected to loads beyond their design limits which could possibly deform them permanently.
This also has negative effects on the regulating character of the volume flow booster such as incomplete closing of
the regulating valve which can be recognised by creeping delayed increase of the back pressure.
Damages due to a pilot pressure / input pressure / output pressure that is set excessively high are excluded from
any warranty.
4.4 Shut-Down Actions
relief the pilot pressure completely
Close inlet valve.
Use up the remaining gas or drain completely.
5 Maintenance
Do not carry out any maintenances / repairs if the pressure regulator
will be under pressure.
The maintenance and repair may only be performed by trained experts! The inspection is recommended
every 6 months if a system has a normal duty cycle. The device is checked for outside damages and function. More
frequent maintenance may be necessary when the system is used under extreme conditions.
5.1 Trouble Shooting
When performing necessary corrective action in the following operations, refer to the "Maintenance" section for the
necessary procedure.
1. Problem:
The regulated pressure continues to increase after lock up without a change in control knob position.
Possible cause: Valve seat needs replacement
2. Problem:
Leaks around or at the pilot chamber.
Possible cause:
1. Pilot chamber needs to be retightened.
2. There is dirt or there are scratches on the valve tappet / diaphragm / piston.
Measure: Replace the diaphragm / piston or the tappet (repair kit)
