Problem
Pump runs, but the suction
action doesn't take place
Pump motor runs, but
delivery capacity or pressure
suddenly decreases
Pump motor doesn't start
or suddenly stops

Repairs should only be carried out by GARDENA service centres or dealers

Probable cause
Air cannot escape, since
delivery side is closed
or remaining water is in the
pressure hose.
The waiting time wasn't
observed.
Suction filter or backflow preventer v Clean the filter or the back-
in the suction hose clogged.
Too high suction height.
In case of any other difficulties concerning the suction action,
use GARDENA Suction Hoses with Backflow Preventer (see
point 8. Accessories) and fill in the liquid to be pumped over the

filler cap
before operation.
Suction filter at the suction
hose is sucked free.
Suction filter or backflow
preventer clogged.
Leaks at suction side.
Turbine clogged.
No power.
Thermal overload switch
has cut out the pump due
to overheating / overloading.
Electric failure.
You should empty your Garden Pump
before the first frost sets in.
1. Open the water drain screw
The Garden Pump drains.
2. Store your Garden Pump so that
it is protected from frost.
The product must not be added to normal household waste. It
must be disposed of in line with local environmental regulations.
v Important : Make sure that the unit is disposed of via your
municipal recycling collection centre.
Remedy
v Open all possible shut-off
devices (e.g. spray nozzle)
in the pressure line, or drain
the pressure hose or dis-
connect it during the suction
action.
v Switch on the pump and
wait max. 7 min.

v Reduce suction height.
v Reduce flow rate on the
delivery side with a control
valve, e.g. GARDENA
art. no. (2)977.
v Clean filter or back-flow
preventer.
v Eliminate leak.
v Loosen the turbine.
v Check fuses and electric
connections.
v Take care of cooling /
ventilation.
v Send the pump to one of our
GARDENA Service Centres.
