EPLACING THE

RAKE

A worn out or improperly installed Brake Roller will cause multiple feeds

and paper jams, or will display the "Separation roller worn" message on

the Operator Panel of the scanner. An improperly installed Brake Roller

may cause the "Break roller not set" message to be displayed on the

Operator Panel. The Brake Roller has an approximate life of 300,000

pages. If NCR or carbonless paper is used the life span of the Brake

Roller may be decreased by half.

Lift the Lever at the right to

open the Upper Transport

Unit.

•

Pull the ADF release levers

towards you and lift up the

ADF Sheet Guide Assembly.

ADF Release Levers

Press down on the upper

part of the Guide Plate with

your fingers at two positions.

•

Pull the Guide Plate towards

you to remove it.
