Valve leaks excessively from
one side of the doors to the
other.
Valve slams
Valve won't open
Valve leaks at flange joint.

Troubleshooting
Possible Cause
Obstruction caught between
doors and seat.
Seat is worn or damaged.
Springs may be broken.
Improper installation.
Loose flange bolting.
Blown flange gasket.
Misalignment or damage to field
piping and supports.
Damaged flange face(s) or
improper flange connections.

Corrective Action
Remove obstruction.
Repair or replace seat.
Replace springs.
Flow arrow on valve body should
be pointing in direction of flow.
Tighten flange bolting.
Replace flange gasket.
Adjust misalignment or repair
piping or supports.
Repair flange, replace valve
body or adjust flange
connections.
