Using a Modem to Connect Remotely to A CDVS-

5000 Series DVR

I. Setting Up Crest CDVS-5000 Series DVR

1. Connect modem to unit and install the modems software drivers.

The first step in using a modem to connect to a DVR is to set up the modem. If you purchased the

modem from Crest Electronics at the time of purchasing the DVR, then the modem should already be set

up and ready for use. If you purchased the modem from Crest Electronics after you purchased the DVR

you will need to follow the setup instructions that came with your modem. After successfully installing

your modem, follow the setup below to set up your DVR to accept incoming calls from a remote ma-

chine using our Center (Remote) software.

2. Setup Windows to accept incoming calls.

A. If the DVR software is running, click exit, and restart in windows mode.

B: Click Restart in Windows Mode. If prompted to log on with another user, click yes and type in Ad-

ministrator for user name and the administrators password.
