The following chapter contains step-by-step instructions for setting up the
frequency inverter.
The G120X setup can be accomplished via IOP-2 or Smart Access Module.

Setup via IOP-2
Requirement
•
IOP-2 is connected with the SINAMICS G120X and the device is switched on.
•
IOP-2 has firmware V2.3 or higher.
•
G120X has firmware V1.0001 or higher.
•
Drive has been reset to factory settings.
Requirements for using Quick Startup
CAUTION
The user must be familiar with all safety instructions as described in the "Basic
safety instructions" section of your inverter's operating instructions.
The inverter must be installed and checked according to the relevant instructions
in the "Installation" section of the inverter's operating instructions.
For the selection of the macro source during Quick Startup, show the user a list
of ready-made macros which define the configuration of the inverter. Every
operator's manual for Control Units contains a list of macros which are specific to
the respective Control Unit; they show the wiring configurations for each macro.
For additional information, refer to the respective operating instructions.
The information that needs to be entered during the Quick Startup process is
located on the motor performance plate. A relevant example can be found in the
operating instructions for your inverter.
When the motor will be operated with the "87 Hz characteristic curve", you must
use the "advanced commissioning" and connect the motor in a delta connection
(Δ). This is explained in the "Installation" section of the operating instructions for
your inverter.
