CONVENIENT OPERATION FOR RECORDING
To clear the Time Fade contents:
® During stop mode, press the @ button.
When the magazine is ejected, the Time Fade contents will
be cleared.
© Press the CLEAR button on the remote control unit during
stop mode or play mode. When the CLEAR
button is
pressed during Time Fade playback mode, the player enters
normal playback mode. {Except for PD-M503)
One-touch Fade:
Playback can be started from the desired point with a fade-in
and stopped at the desired point with a fade-out.

The One-touch Fade function can be carried out in Normal
playback, Program playback/Delete Program playback,
Random playback or Magazine Hi-Lite Scan mode.
Set the player to the desired playback mode, and then
perform the following procedure.
@® During pause mode, press the AUTO
FADER button.
"FADER" appears on the display and playback starts with a
fade-in.
During playback, press the AUTO FADER button. "FADER"
appears on the display and playback pauses with a fade-
out.

MUSIC TYPE MEMORY
e
A music type can be memorized for each 6-disc magazine.
After recording the music type, whenever the specific
magazine is loaded, the recorded music type name
is
displayed. Six different music types can be selected.
MUSIC TYPEs can be recorded for up to ten CD magazines.
Perform this operation after loading the magazine into the
player.
From the stop mode, press the MUSIC TYPE button.
Each time the button is pressed the display changes to
indicate the music type in the following order:
c POP -» ROCK -» JAZZ ~» DANCE -~» CLASS — OTHER
DISPLAY OFF
Select the music type you wish to memorize by
pressing the button
as noted above; when
the
display is left on a given music type for one second
or more, the M.TYPE
indicator will light, and the
displayed music type will be memorized.

When
DISPLAY OFF is selected, the music type for that
magazine is cancelled,
e
if the MUSIC TYPE button is pressed during the play
mode, the music type memorized
for the current
magazine will be displayed for 3 seconds. The music
type is also displayed when the MUSIC TYPE button is
pressed during the stop mode.
e
if you attempt to record music types for more than ten
magazines, the oldest recorded music type will be erased
and replaced with the newly recorded music type.
