Product information
This document describes best practices for the wireless calendar synchronization feature in the BlackBerry®
Enterprise Solution. These issues are specific to organizations running the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server for
Microsoft® Exchange versions 4.0.x and 4.1.x. This section lists calendar issues that are fixed in BlackBerry®
Device Software version 4.1, 4.2 and 4.5, and BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange version 4.0.5 or
later. You should also upgrade to the latest version of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to obtain the latest fixes.

Microsoft maintains a list of hints to avoid lost meetings. Visit
a list of recommendations.

Microsoft Outlook permits recurring infinite events, but this setting takes the calendar outside the range of
1970 to 2037. Set end dates before 2037.
Microsoft Outlook enables you to change individual instances of recurring meetings by dragging and
dropping them in the calendar view. This creates duplicate meetings on BlackBerry devices that are running
certain bundles of Device Software version 4.0.
Although Outlook permits you to accept, update, or decline meetings from the calendar, doing so leaves the
request in your Inbox. In this case, Microsoft Outlook does not notify BlackBerry devices of the changes.
Although the BlackBerry device enables the use of a bare account name (the "user" part of
[email protected]) in a use-once address, meeting responses are often delivered incorrectly. Always
use the full address.

that a recipient exists. If there is no recipient at a particular address, issues might occur. These issues happen
most often when dealing with distribution lists. Make sure you send email messages to valid addresses.
