Troubleshooting Guide

WARNING: Remove the propellers from the motors prior to performing any troubleshooting or maintenance. Failure to
do so may cause serious injury if the motors start unexpetedly.
Problem
Quadcopter control response is
inconsistent or requires extra
trim to neutralize movement
Quadcopter will not respond
to throttle
Quadcopter does not function
and smells burnt after
connecting the fl ight battery
Quadcopter has
reduced fl ight time or is
underpowered
Crashes immediately upon
lift-off
Diffi culty binding
Diffi culty connecting
(after binding)
Static in FPV feed
Possible Cause
Quadcopter not initialized on a level surface
Battery not correctly placed
Motor arm switch is in the OFF position
Throttle too high and/or throttle trim is too high
Quadcopter moved during initialization
Throttle channel is reversed
Travel adjust settings not correct
Flight battery connected with the wrong polarity
Flight battery charge is low
Inadequate power to fl ight battery charger
Flight battery is damaged
Flight conditions might be too cold
Propellers in wrong locations or incorrect fl ight
mode selected
Aileron, elevator or rudder are reversed in the
transmitter
Bind button not pressed while
powering on the quadcopter
Bind switch or button was not held while
transmitter was powered on
Transmitter too near aircraft during
binding process
Quadcopter or transmitter is too close to
large metal object, wireless source or another
transmitter
Transmitter not powered on before the quadcopter
Less than a 5-second wait between fi rst power-
ing on the transmitter and connecting the fl ight
battery to the quadcopter
The quadcopter is bound to a different model
memory (ModelMatch
transmitters only)
Flight battery or transmitter battery charge is
too low
Quadcopter or transmitter is too close to
large metal object, wireless source or another
transmitter
Interference on chosen channel
Flying too close to 5.8 GHz WiFi source
Disconnect the fl ight battery, center the control trim and
re-initialize the quadcopter
Adjust battery position so quadcopter balances in the
center of the frame
Set the motor arm switch to the ON position
Reset controls with the throttle stick and throttle trim at the
lowest setting
Disconnect the flight battery and re-initialize the quadcop-
ter while keeping the quadcopter from moving
Disconnect fl ight battery, reverse the throttle channel on
the transmitter, recconnect fl ight battery
Refer to the transmitter setup table for correct travel adjust
settings.
Replace the power distribution board. Connect the fl ight
battery noting proper polarity
Completely recharge the fl ight battery
Use a different power source for the charger
Replace the fl ight battery and follow the fl ight battery
instructions
Make sure the battery is warm (room temperature) before use
Ensure propeller direction and motor direction are correct
Ensure aileron, elevator or rudder are not reversed
Power off quadcopter and repeat bind process
Power off transmitter and repeat bind process
Power off the transmitter. Move the transmitter a larger dis-
tance from the aircraft or shield the aircraft from the trans-
mitter using your body. Disconnect and reconnect the fl ight
battery to the quadcopter. Follow the binding instructions
Move quadcopter and transmitter to another location and
attempt binding again
Power the quadcopter off. Power on the
transmitter fi rst and then the quadcopter.
Leave the transmitter powered on.
Disconnect and reconnect the fl ight
battery to the quadcopter
Select the correct model memory on the transmitter. Dis-
connect and reconnect the fl ight battery to the quadcopter
Replace or recharge batteries
Move quadcopter and transmitter to another location and
attempt connecting again
Change the video transmitter and receiver
channel per the Using the Micro Camera section
Remove WiFi source or move to a different
fl ying area
