Starting locomotive operation
Unwrap model: Take out the model cautiously
with foil.
Operating instructions: Before use is advisab-
le to let the loco go around about 30 minutes for-
wards an 30 minutes backwards without load, to
obtain an optomal circuit and best tractive power.
The smallest radius this model should run is R1 of
the FLEISCHMANN track system (R1 = 192 mm).
Your locomotive will run smoothly on clean tracks
only. For this purpose we recommend using item
no. 6595, FLEISCHMANN track cleaning
rubber.
Coupling the driving coaches to the centre
coaches: The coupling bar is pre-mounted at the
factory on all of the ICE-T-BordRestaurant-coach
and on the driving car (1st. class). We recommend
that you set up the train on a straight section of
track, starting with the driving car (1st. Class). Pla-
ce this coach, which has its coupling bar fitted at
the factory, on the track and then place the cent-
re coach (end without coupling bar) on the track,
pushing them together so that the couplings clip
into position. Make sure when doing so that the
coupling bar is as horizontal as possible (fig. 1).
The BordRestaurant car is fitted with the motor.
As in the prototype, this separates the 1st and 2nd
class sections of the train. The roof isolatores will
serve as an aid for setting up the correct rake of
coaches, as they should all be offset to the same
side of the rake. Should the coupling bar of a cen-
tre coach need to be replaced, then this should
be inserted into the coupling socket in the end
of the coach on which the roof isolator, from the
spectators view, is situated upper left. Insert the
coupling bar into the socket marked "+" and clip
in for 2 clicks (fig. 2). To separate the train, simply
pull the vehicles apart in the direction of the arrow
(fig. 3).

Important: In order to reproduce an exact repli-
ca of the prototype, the skirts of the centre coa-
ches and driving units are very deep. In certain
circumstances the skirting may foul the point mo-
tors of curved points. Only when negotiating an
S-curve of appossing R1 curves there is a danger
of a derailment for vehicles.
Running in digital mode: First open the body
from the „BordRestaurant". Open the body by
prising it open wide above the wheels (fig. 4). Re-
move the contact clips (fig. 5). Remove the jumper
from the interface. Finally put the plug of the de-
coder into the interface.
Opening: Opening the control cab coaches (fig.
9 + fig. 4) is only necessary to install the interior
lighting. The headlights of the ICE-T change auto-
matically, co-ordinated with the direction of travel,
forwards white and backwards red. Remove the
bow cap on the front and the pantograph (fig. 9).
Open the body by prising it open wide beginning
at the end of the coach (fig. 4). When assembling
the coach body, ensure that the pantograph is set
straight. Snap the slots on the pantograph base
onto the corresponding locating lugs. Finally, push
the bow doors onto the coach chassis using the
located lugs to position them on the coach body.
Note: The headlight switching is done by the DCC
functional decoders as well for analog running as
for digital running. The decoders are located in
both driving cars.
Note: This model has been designed without
overhead catenary function.

Maintenance of the model
To enjoy your model for a long time, it is necessary
to service it regulary (i.e. after it has been in ope-
ration for approximately 30 hours).
1. Lubrication: Apply tiny oil drops to spots
marked in fig. 6, fig. 7 and fig. 8.
We recommend using item no. 6599, Fleischmann
oiler.
2. Motor Changing: First remove body (fig. 4 +
fig. 7). Unclip the interior fittings, carefully using a
screwdriver to bend the spring clips (f) outwards.
Undo the retaining screw of the motor (fig. 7).
Reassemble in inverse sequence.
