Setting The Quick-Tilt In Concrete
Dig a hole at least 10" in diameter x 24".deep. Set the Quick-Tilt
mount with the attached 5" PVC separators in the hole. Mix up two 80
lb bags of concrete according to the directions on the bag and pour it
into the hole. Using a level, set the Quick-Tilt mount so it is plumb.
Reassembling your Quick-Tilt With The Supplied PVC Pipe
Remove the 5" PVC separators from the 3/8" bolts. If you plan on
using the supplied 11/4" PVC insulator then position it and the two
keepers in between the two support brackets. One of the keepers is
missing a thumbscrew. This keeper should be positioned towards the
top of your support bracket and will eventually accommodate the
stabilizer bolt. Working with the holes on the support bracket closest to
the ground, slide the bolt through the support bracket. Slip one of the
1½" spacers over the bolt before passing the bolt through the hole in
the keeper. As the bolt passes through the keeper slide another 1½"
spacer over it and then continue to push the bolt through until it passes
through the other bracket. Secure it with a wing nut. This bolt is your
pivot bolt.
The bolt on your upper keeper is used to lock your mast, antenna or
flagpole in the vertical position and shall be engaged once you have
walked your structure up. This bolt does not require any spacers.
Once you have walked your structure up, slide this 3/8" bolt through the
support bracket, keeper, and other support bracket and secure it with
another of the large wing nuts.
After locking your structure in place, you can now go ahead and insert the ¼ " stainless bolt. Push this bolt
through the support bracket and slide another 1½" spacer over the bolt as you continue to push this bolt
through the small holes in the keeper. As the bolt passes through the keeper slide the remaining 1½"
spacer over it and continue to push it through until it comes out of the other support bracket. Secure it with
the wing nut. This bolt is your stabilizer and will limit your lateral motion.
If you will not be using the supplied PVC pipe, remove it from the keepers. Place the keepers on your mast
section. The easiest way to achieve this is to simply back off the thumbscrews and wing nuts to the point
that you can slide the PVC section out, without totally removing the wing nuts from the screws. Before
removing the keepers from the PVC pipe you may wish to note their distance between themselves. This will
show you how much separation is required so that all your holes and bolts will line up. With the
thumbscrews backed off slide the two keepers over your support mast . Make sure to put the one keeper
with the missing thumbscrew on first with the vacant hole towards the top. Follow the same steps outlined
above, selecting the appropriate spacer for the desired mast section to be supported. The measurements
provided on the assembled drawing for the spacers correspond to the outer diameter of the mast you will be
using.
