Installing a SCSI Hard-Disk Drive in the External

Drive Bay

To install a SCSI hard-disk drive in the external drive bay, use the following procedure:
1.
Locate the four mounting holes on each side of the external drive bay. Align a rail
bracket with the set of holes that, when the rail is installed, places the rail closer
to the front of the external drive bay.
2.
Secure a rail bracket to the left and right sides of the external drive bay using the
screws provided (see Figure 1-1).
3.
Attach the hard-disk drive to the drive carrier.
a.
With the drive carrier laying flat, place the hard-disk drive right-side up on the
carrier with the front of the drive directly behind the carrier handle and the
drive connector on the end of the carrier.
b.
Secure the hard-disk drive to the drive carrier with four screws inserted
through the sides of the carrier.
4.
Align the edge of the drive carrier with the notches in the drive bay assembly and
slide the carrier into the assembly as shown in Figure 1-1.

5.
Close the drive carrier handle to lock the drive in place.
6.
Repeat steps 3 through 5 to install a second drive in the assembly.
