Before proceeding:
Reading head replacement can only be preformed on
the left end of the scale case.
Read the instructions completely before beginning.
Save the packaging material and encoder alignment
brackets for return of the defective reading head to
ACU-RITE.
ACU-RITE will evaluate the returned reading head
for cause of failure.
Ensure that no further damage occurs while removing,
and packaging the old reading head.
Cable exit direction ...

Determine the cable exit direction before
installing the reading head.
•
Remove the cover plate to change the cable exit
direction.
Existing reading head removal ...
Gasket
Remove end cap

Loosen the three screws and remove the left cap,
gasket, and stop.

Remove the encoder reading head mounting
screws.
•
Carefully slide the reading head out through the
left end of the scale case.
Reading head installation ...
Reading head and positioning
tool assembly
Tape
•
Remove the shipping tape from the new reading
head assembly.
•
Align the roll pins in the positioning tool with the
mating guides in the left end of the scale case
extrusion and fit together flush.
•
Hold securely so that there is no gap between the
scale case extrusion sections.
