BASIC HAMMER DRILL OPERATIONS

9.3 HAMMER DRILLING – FIGS.6 – 7

– Rotate the drilling/chiselling selector (7) to the

hammer and drill setting.

– Switch the rotary/hammer selector (5) to the drill

and hammer setting.

This combination of settings is recommended for

drilling holes in concrete and masonry. Hammer

action will be in operation and the drill bit will rotate

accordingly.

9.4 CHISELLING (NON-ROTATING) –

– Rotate the side drilling/chiselling selector (7) to

the hammer setting.

– Switch the rotary/hammer selector (5) to the drill

and hammer setting.

With this combination of settings, hammer action will

be in operation, but without rotation of the chisel

accessory. This operation is best suited for chiselling

out or 'chipping off' masonry and brickwork, chasing

out brickwork, plasterboard, etc.
