ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
The DrizAir 2400 is equipped with a three-terminal
type grounding plug on the electrical cord. It must be
plugged into a grounded outlet. The unit is designed to
operate on ordinary household 110/120 volt, 60 Hertz
alternating current. Do not under any circumstances
remove the round grounding prong from the cord.
Danger
Do not under any circumstances remove the round
grounding plug from the cord. To do so will increase
the risk of personal injury, shock or fire.
The DrizAir 2400 is provided with a 14 gauge elec-
trical cord. The unit may be operated from a 110/120
volt system only. Extension cords must be heavy
enough to deliver at least 12 amps to the unit when it is
operating at high temperatures. It is extremely impor-
tant that the voltage at the unit itself is within a toler-
ance of 10% of the nominal rating. If there is any doubt
about voltage, then it should be tested at the unit on
compressor start-up.
If there is a "dip" of more than 10% from the no-
minal supply rating, then action should be taken to im-
prove the supply. Under no circumstances should the
unit be left operating. As the length of cable increases,
the voltage available at the unit decreases. The follow-
ing table provides a guide to maximum electric exten-
sion cord lengths.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Mobility & Transportation
When transporting in a vehicle, secure the dehumi-
difier to prevent sliding and possible damage to the
unit or injury to vehicle occupants. Do not drop the
unit. Severe impact may damage the compressor.
The DrizAir 2400 may be transported in either the
upright or the horizontal position. It is designed to be
operated only when upright.
The DrizAir 2400 is equipped with dual handles
and wheels for easy mobility. Loading rollers mounted
on the lower handle aid loading. The lower handle is
positioned at the balance point for normal maneuver-
ing. The upper handle makes going up and down stairs
more comfortable.
Operation
1. If the unit has been in a horizontal position for any
time over a few minutes, let it sit in the upright po-
sition for at least 30 minutes before starting. This
allows oil to drain back into the compressor, leng-
thening the life of the compressor.
2. Plug in the DrizAir 2400 into a 110/120 volt outlet.
On the touch-pad control, the red pin-light located
on the OFF switch will light up, indicating that
power is being supplied to the unit.
3. To operate, push the ON switch. The red pin-light
on the switch will light up. Listen for proper opera-
tion of the fan and compressor before leaving the
15 feet
unit to operate unattended.
25 feet
4. Run the pump drain hose into a sink, toilet, drain, or
bucket. Make sure the hose is not kinked. If using a
50 feet
bucket, be sure to check and empty the bucket fre-
quently to prevent overflow.
5. Push the PURGE switch to empty the pump's col-
lection pan, before moving the unit. Otherwise, wa-
ter may remain in the pump's collection pan after
operation, and can spill when the unit is moved.
6. The red pin-light marked IN DEFROST will light
up when the DrizAir 2400 is in defrost mode. Dur-
ing this period, the "intelligent" hot-gas bypass op-
erates, so that warm refrigerant flows through the
coils to melt ice that has formed on them. When de-
frosting is complete, the unit returns to normal op-
eration.
7. The HOUR METER tracks the total hours during
which the unit is switched ON. It can be read any
time the unit is plugged in. The meter is also backlit
for ease of reading in dark conditions.
