WARNING: Safety glasses or goggles must be worn when using the charger.
Charging a battery
1. Startup screen will be displayed automatically when unit is first turned on.
Press ʻYʼ for menu.
2. Menu screen will display cursor pointing to

3. Connect clamps to battery.
The DXC-2018CA will automatically
proceed to the next function.
4. Enter the approximate battery temperature. Use the + / Up and the - / Down keys
to change the temperature. Press Y / Enter key to continue once the temperature
has been entered.
5. Enter the CCA rating for the battery. Use the + / Up and the - / Down keys to change
the rating. Press Y / Enter key to continue once the rating has been entered.
6. Scroll down to
choose type
of battery.
7. Fast Charge Mode: Quickly charges the battery up to level that it can be put
back into service, and the remaining charge will be put back into the battery
with the vehicles charging system. Full Charge Mode: Provides a full charge
to the battery. Charge times will be longer compared to the Fast Charge Mode.
8. Confirm Inputs. If inputs are correct, Press ʻYʼ to continue
If changes are required, Press ʻNʼ to re-enter battery information.
9. Battery Charging Begins. After a short time, the display will indicate the
maximum time to complete the charge.
10. Charge Results/Trustworthy Advice are displayed. Trustworthy Advice can be
viewed on screen by scrolling down using the - / Down button.

How to Use the Battery Charger
WARNING: Use caution handling if battery temperature exceeds 140°.

NOTE: If the battery is over 120°F, the DXC-2018CA will prompt you to
allow the battery to cool before proceeding with charging the battery.
Starting Standard
