Cleaning and care

Before carrying out maintenance
work, the cooker hood must be dis-
connected from the mains supply.
ensure that, depending on the con-
nection:
- it is switched off at the fused unit
or the fused unit switch is with-
drawn, or
- it is switched off at the wall socket
and the plug removed (do not pull
on the cable, only on the plug, or
- the mains fuse is withdrawn; or
- the screw-out fuse is removed (in
countries where this is applicable).
Ensure curent is not restored to the
appliance while maintenance or re-
pair work is being carried out.

Housing

The cooker hood housing can be
cleaned using hot water with a little
mild detergent. Dry using a soft cloth.
Never use cleaning agents contain-
ing soda, acids, chlorides or ab-
rasive substances, as these can
damage the surface material.

Grease filters

The re-usable metal grease filters in the
appliance remove solid particles from
the kitchen vapours (grease, dust, etc)
preventing soiling of the cooker hood.
Always clean the grease filters when
they are visibly saturated with grease,
or when their operating efficiency is re-
duced. They should be cleaned at
least every one to two months.
Cleaning and care
An oversaturated filter is a fire ha-
zard!
To remove the grease filters, push
the filter retention clips in towards
the middle.
Take the grease filters out and clean.
By hand: with a scrubbing brush in hot
water with detergent.
In the dishwasher: Place the filters
with the short side upright in the
lower basket, ensuring the spray
arm is not obstructed.
After cleaning, leave the filters to dry
for a while on an absorbant surface
before putting them back in place.
When removing the filters for clean-
ing also clean off any residues of oil
or fat from the now accessible hous-
ing to prevent the risk of these catch-
ing fire.
When replacing the filters, make sure
that the clips are visible, facing
down towards the hob.
Should a filter be replaced upside
down, insert a small screwdriver
blade into the slits to disengage the
clip. Do not let the filter drop onto the
hob below.
