Olympus WS-331M Digital Voice

Recorder

Functionality

This lightweight, pocket sized device, with up to 555 hours of memory, can be used to record

feedback interviews, meetings, workshops, consultation discussions, Experimental Teaching

Space events etc.

Switching on the power

Slide the HOLD switch on the side of the recorder in the direction opposite that indicated by the

arrow. The power will be turned on and the LCD panel on the front of the recorder will begin to

display.

Recording

 VOICE MODE: For recording and playing back voice recordings, slide the MODE switch (on

the left side of the device) to the VOICE position

 FOLDER SELECTION: The recorder provides five folders, A to E for storing audio data. File

names will be automatically created (e.g. WS330001.WMA). Before recording, select a

folder by pressing the FOLDER button - every time the FOLDER button is pressed folders

will switch. The current folder is identified by the letter in the top left corner of the LCD

display panel

 Press the REC button to start recording. The record/play indicator light glows red. To

allow the built-in stereo microphone to record clearly, ensure that the top of the recorder

is turned to the direction to be recorded. Press the STOP button to stop recording

 PAUSING: Press the REC button while recording. "Rec Pause" will flash on the display. To

resume recording press the REC button again and the recording will continue at the point

of interruption
