4. Radio technology
Radio technology is the most modern form of time transmission. With good recep-
tion, a radio-controlled clock keeps very precise time and need never be reset.
With all radio-controlled clocks a deviation of just 1 second over 1 million years
can be expected. The official German transmitter is in the vicinity of Frankrut/Main
and transmits via long wave 77,5 kHz within a radius of approx. 1,500 km.
5. Setting up
The rechargeable battery is already inserted, only the protective foil has to be
removed. Open the battery compartment cover (4) (backside) and pull out the foil.
The energy produced by the solar module is stored in the special battery. This
is done even in average light conditions. Please note that when the alarm is not
exposed to light, the life of the battery will be reduced because of the exposure to
light. If the power decreases (for example, lighting becomes weaker), expose it to
direct sunlight for several hours to recharge the battery.
6. Setting the time automatically
After that, the receiver is switched off. During the reception phase, lasting approx.
2 minutes, the hands stay at the 12 o'clock position. The entire procedure for
setting the hands to exact time takes up to 9 minutes. When you insert the
battery, please never hold down the top button (1). If in doubt, repeat the start-up
procedure.

7. Setting the alarm time
To set the alarm time you require, turn the adjusting knob (3) on the back of the
alarm clock in the direction indicated by the arrow. If you turn the knob in the
opposite direction this will not always adjust the alarm hand. To activate the alarm
function, push the side-mounted switch (2) upwards towards the bell symbol. The
green panel appears at the switch.
8. Switching off the alarm time signal / Snooze (alarm repetition)
Using the snooze/illumination button at the top (1) Press the snooze (alarm
repetition) button briefly. The alarm signal is interrupted for 4 to 5 minutes and
then begins again. If the alarm signal is not interrupted or switched off, it stops
automatically after approx. 2 minutes. It will then sound again 12 hours later at
the set alarm time. Snooze operation can be repeated any number of times for a
period of approx. 60 minutes. To deactivate the alarm function completely, press
the side-mounted switch-off button (2) down.
9. Illumination
Your alarm clock's dial light is switched on automatically for 5 seconds each time
the alarm goes off. The dial is also lit for 5 seconds whenever you briefly press
the top button.
