MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL SURFACES: Dansani bathroom
furniture is produced from materials that are well-suited for
bathrooms. It is, however, important to ensure good ventilation
and to place the furniture at a distance from the bath tub/shower
to avoid splashes of water and soap residues on the furniture. Wipe
the furniture dry if they are in a position to be splashed with water.
This will ensure that the furniture retains its attractive appearance
and the risk of damage is minimised.
Dansani furniture is produced using particle and MDF board base
components, then coated with a variety of surfaces to protect it from
moisture damage. Please be aware that the warranty of the product
no longer applies, and the risk of moisture damage increases, if
alterations to the construction and/or of the design is made.
For information about care and maintenance, please see the section
below which is divided up according to the material. If you are
unsure about the material used on your furniture, please contact
your dealer or see the product information given on our web site
www.dansani.co.uk.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS FOR MATERIALS COATED WITH PVC
FOIL AND/OR MELAMINE AND LAMINATE: We recommend clea-
ning with a soft cloth, wrung in hot water with a mild all-purpose
cleaning agent. Furniture with structured surfaces is best cleaned
along the structure to remove any dirt. Wipe with a damp cloth
wrung in clean water to remove the cleaning agent and to avoid
stains and stripes. Avoid using dry cloths and paper tissue for furniture
with matt and high-gloss surfaces, as these may scratch the surface.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning agents that contain
ammonia, bleach or other strong solvents as these will damage the
furniture. We also advise against the use of furniture polish, acetone,
ethanol, benzine and coarse cleaning sponges.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS FOR LACQUERED SURFACES: Furniture
with a lacquered surface is best maintained by regularly cleaning,
and at the same time ensure that spots or marks are removed as
fast as possible. Lacquer reacts by prolonged contact with certain
greases and abrasives found in creams as well as toothpaste. We re-
commend cleaning with a soft cloth, firmly wrung in hot water with
a mild all-purpose cleaning agent. Wipe with a damp cloth wrung
in clean water to remove the cleaning agent and to avoid stains
and stripes. Avoid using dry cloths and paper tissue for furniture
with matt and high-gloss surfaces as these may scratch the surface.
If the furniture has become unusually greasy or dirty, we recommend
using the method described below. This is particularly relevant for
surfaces treated with rubber lacquer.
• Use a spray cleaner for bathrooms which removes grease and
typical limescale marks. Most supermarkets sell products,
which are well-suited for removing grease and limescale.
• Spray the cleaning agent on to a damp cloth and wipe the sur-
face. Never spray directly onto the furniture. We also advise
against rubbing the lacquer as this may cause stains and da-
mage.
• Wipe the surface clean with a cloth wrung in clean water to
remove the cleaning agent. This is to avoid stains and stripes
in the lacquer.
• We recommend restricting the use of the cleaning agent on
the lacquer to a maximum of 5 minutes if left any longer it may
cause damage.
• Also see the instructions on the cleaning agent and if possible,
test it on a spot that is not visible for example, on the inside of
the front, before using it on visible places.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning agents that contain
ammonia, bleach or other strong solvents as these will damage the
furniture. Never use furniture polish, acetone, ethanol, benzine and
coarse cleaning sponges.
Cleaning and care instructions for furniture made from solid wood
or veneered wood: Wood is a living material and may vary in colour
and structure. As the wood is subjected to light, the colour will
mature and its tone will change. Variations in structure and tone
on fronts and sides do not warrant claims.
Cleaning: We recommend cleaning with a soft cloth, wrung in
hot water with a mild all-purpose cleaning agent. Furniture with
structured surfaces are best cleaned along the structure to remove
any dirt. Wipe with a damp cloth, wrung in clean water to remove
the cleaning agent and to avoid stains. Remove any excess water
with a soft cloth.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning agents that contain
ammonia, bleach or other strong solvents as these will damage the
furniture. We also strongly advise against the use of furniture polish,
acetone, benzine and coarse cleaning sponges.
Care: Veneered furniture from Dansani is lacquered with a
moisture-proof two-component lacquer, however, on-going use
of the care instructions below will freshen up the tone of the wood,
giving a saturating and water-repellent effect. We recommend that
you treat the furniture once or twice every year according to need.
Use a colourless Vaseline oil without hardening agent. The oil may
be called paraffin oil, but most importantly, it must be colourless.
We recommend using the following method:
• Wipe dust off the surface using a firmly wrung cloth to ensure
that the surface is clean.
• Leave the surface to dry for 5-10 minutes.
• Pour the oil on to a cotton cloth (must be quite wet). Apply the
oil in a thin layer using circular movements to ensure that it is
rubbed thoroughly into the open pores.
• Leave the surface to rest for 3-5 minutes then wipe with a dry
cloth, beginning with circular movements and finally by wiping
along the grain to ensure that the surface is dry. The surface
should now have a golden colour.
• Leave the surface to rest for another 5-10 minutes, then wipe
with paper towel along the grain. It is important not to use co-
loured paper tissue as these may cause stains.
• It is important to ensure that oil residues are not left on the
surface, otherwise it will become sticky.
MIRRORS/MIRROR CABINET: Mirrors without frames should be
cleaned using ordinary window cleaning products and a soft micro-
fibre cloth to obtain the best result. After the cleaning we recommend
that the mirrors and mountings on the mirror cabinet are wiped off
thoroughly so that the surplus of cleaning detergents is removed.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning agents that contain
ammonia, bleach or other strong solvents as these may damage
the mirror. We also advise against the use of cleaning sponges and
paper tissue as these may cause scratches.
For framed mirrors it is important not to use spirit based cleaning
agents, in case they come into contact with the frame. Some
window cleaning products contain spirits and must not be used as
these may damage the surface. We recommend that you use a soft
microfibre cloth ,wrung in hot water with a mild all-purpose cleaning
agent to clean the mirror. Then wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
SOLID SURFACE BASINS: Solid surface is a strong polyester based
composite material with a homogeneous surface. Regular cleaning
