Commissioning and operation
4.1
Connecting the headset or hand microphone
a. Connect he communication set to the jack (Fig. 1/a) on the upper side of the unit.
b. If a communication headset is used – Put on the headset and adjust it so that it fits comfortably and
correctly.
If the hand microphone SM 3 is used – Fasten the hand microphone, if desired, with the clip on the
rear to a suitable place on your clothing.
c. Place the unit on a suitable place of your clothing.
NOTE
Protect the unit against dampness.
4.2
Switching on, synchronization, adjusting the speaker volume
a. Switch on the units by means of the on/off switch and volume control (rotary knob Fig. 1/b).
Synchronization: A high beep tone is audible in the communication set connected to the base unit
and to the standard unit approx. 10 seconds after switching on. The synchronization procedure then
begins, i.e. the base unit seeks its standard unit. This synchronization procedure can last approx. 30
seconds.
Upon completion of synchronization – i.e. the base unit has found its standard unit – a high double-
beep tone sounds in the communication set of the standard unit and of the base unit. Subsequently
the connection setup between the units is effected automatically and the units are ready for duplex
communication. In the case of two standard units two high double-beep tones are audible in the
communication set of the base unit upon successful completion of synchronization.
b. On voice reception adjust the speaker volume for your communication set by means of the on/off
switch and volume control knob (rotary knob).
NOTE
Always leave the units switched on as long as you work with the communcation system so that
immediate availability of the system is provided.
c. Connection setup and release see sections 4.3...4.3.3.

simultaneous listening) is possible via the communication sets connected to the units.
In the case of communication sets with PTT button, press the PTT button and keep it pressed while
speaking (see section 2.10).
