AvaTrigger-USB2 External Trigger Box
Operating Manual
The AvaTrigger is a trigger source that can be used to trigger
an AvaSpec-USB2/EVO spectrometer. The AvaTrigger has two
different settings for external triggering, i.e. an optical
trigger and a pushbutton trigger.
The 3-position switch should be set into the left position to
use the optical trigger. If triggers should be generated
manually by the pushbutton, set the switch to the right. The
trigger box is switched off by setting the switch in the
middle position.
The optical trigger is useful to measure pulsed light sources, the AvaSpec can start integration time
within 1.5 microsecond (depending on the model) after the optical signal starts, or a user specified
delay time later if the spectral output against time needs to be measured. The optical trigger has an
SMA905 connector to easily couple to our comprehensive line of light sources and accessories
through SMA couples fiber optics. The sensitivity of the optotrigger can be adjusted by a
potentiometer at the front side of the AvaTrigger. The green LED at the front side shows a short
pulse when a TTL pulse is put at pin 4 of the DB15 connector at the backside of the AvaTrigger box.
The AvaTrigger comes with an IC-DB26-2 interface cable. This cable needs to be connected between
the AvaTrigger and the AvaSpec-USB2/EVO spectrometer.
