Installing the Converged Network Adapter Card Driver

To achieve maximum system performance, this value can be changed according to the server
•
load and the peak operating times.
•
The number of simultaneous command executions per CA port for the ETERNUS DX is limited to
1024. This value is used by multiple servers that share the CA port. A maximum of 1024 com-
mands can be executed per CA port.

Press the [Esc] key twice to return to the [Fast!UTIL Options] menu.
If the BIOS settings were changed, save the settings using [Save xxxxxx]. When two or more Converged
Network Adapter cards are installed in the server, select the second or later Converged Network Adapter
card using the following steps, and set the BIOS of the selected card.
(1)
Select [Select Host Adapter] from the [Fast!UTIL Options] menu and press the [Enter] key.
(2)
Select the Converged Network Adapter card to be set (BIOS setting) in the [Select Host Adapter]
window.
The [Fast!UTIL Options] menu appears. Then perform

Select [Exit Fast!UTIL] and press the [Enter] key.

Select [Reboot System] and press the [Enter] key.
The server reboots.
To return to the [Fast!UTIL] menu, select [Return to Fast!UTIL].

Installing the Converged Network Adapter Card Driver
Check whether the Converged Network Adapter card driver is the OS standard driver or not. If the Converged
Network Adapter card requires a non-standard driver, check the driver versions using the "Server Support Ma-
trix".
When the Converged Network Adapter card requires a standard kernel package driver
•
The standard add-on driver for the OS should be used.
When the Converged Network Adapter card requires a non-standard driver
•
Download and install the driver specified in the "Server Support Matrix" from the QLogic Corp. web-site.
Refer to the QLogic Converged Network Adapter card manual for details on the installation method.
