Non-qualified personnel

If the encoder is electrically installed by inadequately qualified personnel then the functional

safety can be disabled.

Only fully qualified personnel may carry out work on a functionally safe rotary encoder.

These persons must be knowledgeable about:

• Topics relating to functional safety

• Legislation, safety regulations and standards for functional safety

• Content of the detailed operating instructions provided
