SAFE OPERATION & USE
WARNING: COMPONENTS OF THIS DRUM SET ARE DESIGNED TO ROTATE
AT VERY HIGH SPEED. IT IS VITAL THAT THEY ARE TREATED WITH CARE AND
RESPECT. DO NOT USE IF DAMAGED.
SAFE PRACTICE
NEVER use a drum if the spindle is bent or damaged.
If used with a high speed air tool, always check that the spindle is not bent by
first fitting to an electric hand drill, gently switching on, and observing the drum
runs true. If in doubt, do not use.
Ensure the drum is capable of withstanding the rotational speed of the tool -
refer to 'Specifications'.
ALWAYS ensure the jaws are tight when fitting to a power tool, and always
retest for tightness before every operation.
ALWAYS wear a dust mask and safety goggles, manufactured to current
European Standards, and a pair of industrial quality gloves whenever you use
this drum set with a power tool.
When using on metal surfaces, take all necessary fire precautions as sparks will
be created.
METHOD OF USE
The nut on the spindle of each drum has a LEFT HAND thread. Turn the nut
clockwise to move it away from the drum so that a slight gap appears, then
slide the abrasive sleeve fully over the drum.
Turn the spindle nut anticlockwise so that the drum is squeezed and expands
to grip the sleeve. Turn the nut until the sleeve is held firm but take care not to
overtighten.
Insert the drum spindle into your power tool to the FULL DEPTH of the spindle,
having ensured the complete assembly is in perfect condition and tighten the
chuck or collet jaws fully.
