COOLING SYSTEM FILLING/DRAINING DEVICE
STEP 1: DRAINING THE CIRCUIT
• Before starting, turn on the vehicle's engine and let it run for a few minutes until the fan
starts. This will confirm that the system thermostat is open. Then turn off the engine to
start the draining process.
• Carefully open the cap of the expansion tank and use the cone previously installed on
the Y-adapter of the unit. Adjust the length of the plunger to the size of your tank. It
should be long enough to fit into the deepest part of the tank. Then place the cone and
plunger into the expansion tank until the system is sealed. (Fig. 5)
NOTES: You may need to clamp the expansion tank hose with pliers for some vehicles
(see pliers OM 5104/OM 5105).
• To start the suction, open the valve corresponding to the transparent hose of the
Y-adapter (Fig. 7) and set the "air flow" valve to "Vacuum" (Fig.6). You can follow the
evacuation of the circuit by looking at the pressure gauge on the waste liquid tank until
it reaches about -0.7bar. This should take between 2 and 5 minutes.

• To draw in as much liquid as possible, restart the suction during operation by briefly
venting the system. To do this, open an accessible bleed screw and close it. If no screw
is accessible, you can slightly lift the cone and replace it in the vessel. At the end of the
suction, simply turn the "air flow" valve to "Off" (Fig.1), leaving the transparent hose valve
open for the next step.
The draining is complete.
