Daisy-Chain Installation —

Gigabit SPAN Switch hardware installation is illustrate in Figure 5.

To connect another 4X16SP-1000BT into a Daisy-Chain configuration, refer to FIGURE 5

and follow these steps:

Step 1. Two 100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz power source inlet connections are provided

for each 4X16SP-1000BT Copper Gigabit SPAN Switch. Use of the second

power source is strongly recommended to assure uninterrupted monitoring.

Connect both AC power cables into the IEC 320 inlet connectors, respec-

tively, of each 4X16SP-1000BT Copper Gigabit SPAN Switch. Plug the

power cables into the external power source, furthermore, connecting the

second power cable to a different external power source circuit than the first

power cable eliminates power as a single point of failure. The front panel

POWER 1 and 2 LEDs illuminate indicating power 1 and 2, respectively,

are on. Either LED not illuminated indicates a defective power source and

immediate investigation is required to insure redundant power integrity.
